Push / Push Potentiometer (15mm Shaft Length)

R149.00

Description

PLEASE NOTE: When soldering Push Push or Push Pull pots ALWAYS ground the pot casing using the little ground tab at the bottom. Do not solder to the side of the pot as the heat can damage the push / pull mechanism inside. Also when removing knobs from a Push Push or Push Pull pot please make sure the shaft is OUT and grab the shaft with a pliers before pulling the knob off. If you do not hold the shaft while removing the knob and pull too hard you can damage the switch mechanism inside.

A push-push potentiometer is used to turn a simple volume / tone knob into a volume / tone knob as well as a switch that can be pushed in and pushed out. Most commonly used to split humbucker pickups into single coil but there are various other uses too.

PRICE IS FOR 1 POT – Please add the desired amount of pots to your cart.

Includes 1 x washer and nut, if you want more to kind of create a spacer behind the pickguard please purchase “Nut and washer for USA / CTS Pot” separate

For guitars where the potentiometer is installed through wood please use the 18mm shaft potentiometer, 15mm is for pickguards and control plates.

250k pots are usually used for volume and tone control on single coil pickups

What is the difference between A pots and B pots?

A” would denote an audio taper pot (most of the control happens between 7 – 10) and the “B” suffix would denote a linear taper pot (more even roll-off between 0 – 10)

A and B pots however are interchangeable and the only difference is the taper of the pot, or “how gradually it rolls off”. This is determined by player preference and either will work fine. Most guitars have B for volume and A for tone. USA Fender uses A for both Volume and Tone.
